Relics (2025–Present)

"Relic" comes from the Latin word reliquiae, meaning "remains," which derives from an even earlier term that signified departure. In many religions, relics are a sacred part of daily life, whether this be on the rosary that lies wrapped around praying hands or that which rests behind the walls of a golden funerary encasement. They serve as physical manifestations of the divine to keep in close contact with.

The series "Relics" plays on the motif of relics in Christianity. It aims to look at the ways in which people construct individual relationships with cultural objects, particularly how the meaning of these objects change throughout time and space.

In addition to this, "Relics" is an attempt to show us the ways in which we carry traits throughout generations, much like one passes down a third-class relic. By drawing parallels between the physical and metaphysical, the series highlights the way abstract thoughts or beliefs distinctive of Italian-American and Irish cultures express themselves materially.
